Join us as Dr. Katya Denisova, Director of Professional Learning for Baltimore City Schools, leads a discussion on strategies for engaging adult learners in meaningful PD.
Dr. Katya Denisova is a 24-year veteran educator in Baltimore City Public Schools. Over the course of her career, she has served as a high school physics teacher, school administrator, science district leader, and currently, Director of Professional Learning. Her work is grounded in a deep interest in the intersection of neuroscience and impactful adult learning. Dr. Denisova is the author of the Design and Facilitation of Adult Learning (DFAL) course, which has become a foundational professional learning experience in City Schools and is now required for all school and district leaders. Her professional interests include creating the conditions for effective adult learning, building coherent systems of professional development, and ensuring professional learning for teachers and leaders is meaningfully connected to student outcomes. Denisova holds a Doctorate degree in Science Education.
